AtWork Personnel is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer / Quality Control Manager for a Direct Hire opportunity in the Asheville, NC area to oversee safety, quality control and compliance on U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee site safety, health, and quality-control activities.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and lead toolbox talks/safety meetings.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, VA, federal, and contract requirements.
• Review Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and safety plans.
• Inspect construction work for quality and contract compliance.
• Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Maintain safety, training, inspection, and QC documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, VA representatives, and government personnel.
• Assist with inspections, testing, submittals, RFIs, and project closeout.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of commercial or federal construction experience.
• Previous SSHO and construction quality-control experience.
• OSHA 30 certification commonly required.
• First Aid/CPR preferred or required depending on project.
• USACE CQM-C certification may be required based on the VA contract.
