About The Role

The Senior Coordinator, Strategic Risk Selection, acts as the single, dedicated point of contact for a portfolio of HUB Financial wealth management advisors, providing high end, end to end case management support for files submitted to the Strategic Risk Selection division. Working within a specialized, personalized service model, this role manages the full lifecycle of a risk selection file - from intake and file creation, to requirement setup and tracking, through to a careful handoff to the appropriate team member after submission to the insurer.

This is a foundational role within a newly established, fast growing unit. Candidates who show genuine curiosity about the technical side of life insurance risk selection - risk classification, medical/financial evidence, and case strategy - will find real opportunities to expand their scope over time. The pace of growth depends on individual initiative: the right person will be mentored directly by the SVP, Strategic Underwriting and Planning, and, through demonstrated commitment, become a de facto trainee/apprentice in risk selection alongside the core operational part of the role.

What You'll Do
  • Receive and verify risk selection intake forms for completeness and accuracy, setting up and organizing files in internal systems to ensure all required documentation is correctly entered, filed, and accounted for from the outset.
  • Proactively identify missing information early in the file lifecycle, following up with relevant parties to close gaps before they cause downstream delays.
  • Order and track all risk selection requirements - medical, financial, APS reports, and others - coordinating with vendors, paramedical services, and third parties to ensure timely receipt, and flagging delays as needed.
  • Maintain a clear, up to date view of the status of all assigned files, acting as the main operational point of contact for status inquiries, and ensuring advisors and internal stakeholders receive regular, responsive, and well calibrated updates.
  • Anticipate questions and proactively communicate developments, keeping all parties informed without waiting to be asked.
  • Serve as the central coordination point between advisors, insurers, and vendors, facilitating efficient and professional information flow, and supporting the Strategic Risk Selection team through preparation and organization of case documents.
  • Ensure all files meet established process and documentation standards, maintaining consistency in file structure, naming conventions, and tracking across the portfolio.
  • Support adherence to service deadlines and processing expectations, contributing to a high level of execution on every file.
  • Support an efficient, smooth handoff of files once submitted to the insurer.
  • Collaborate with other operational leaders to establish tracking mechanisms that support reporting on files submitted by the Strategic Risk Selection division.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to track expenses and their recovery.
  • Identify inefficiencies or recurring issues in file processing and propose improvements to templates, tracking tools, and processes, supporting the implementation of management led operational improvements.
  • Contribute to developing a scalable, repeatable case management model.
  • Work directly with the VP, Strategic Risk Selection to build hands on knowledge of risk selection analysis, risk classification principles, and case strategy; over time, and based on demonstrated initiative, support the preparation of risk selection representation documents and case rationales for complex submissions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need for Success
  • 10+ years of experience in the life insurance industry or a Managing General Agency (MGA) environment; experience in case or policy management is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of WealthServ or comparable insurance administration platforms is a significant asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex case information clearly and professionally to advisors, insurers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, combined with solid analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of risk selection processes, requirements, and terminology is a significant asset.
  • Positive, professional attitude, excellent customer service skills, and genuine commitment to advisor satisfaction.
  • Proven ability to independently manage a high volume of files with sound judgment and minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and a disciplined approach to prioritization, time management, and follow up.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • LOMA designation or other industry related training is considered an asset.
