Safety Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Construction Safety Coordinators to join our team supporting active construction projects in Fayetteville and at the Fort Gillem site.

These positions are responsible for helping maintain a safe, compliant, and productive work environment across active construction jobsites. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience, strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, and hands-on experience working with construction crews and project management teams.

Experience with Procore construction management software and Smartsheet project management software is required/preferred for these positions. Candidates should be comfortable using technology to manage safety documentation, project information, inspections, corrective actions, and other project-related activities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day safety activities for assigned construction projects.
• Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and field observations.
• Identify unsafe conditions and work practices and communicate corrective actions.
• Perform and document PTPs (Pre-Task Plans) as required by company policy.
• Ensure required PTPs, inspections, forms, and other safety documentation are completed accurately and on time.
• Assist supervisors and field personnel with understanding and implementing company safety requirements.
• Serve as a safety resource and provide guidance and reminders to field employees.
• Follow up on safety deficiencies to ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Assist with incident and near-miss investigations and documentation.
• Assist with safety meetings, toolbox talks, orientations, and employee training.
• Help coordinate safety-related activities between field personnel, project management, subcontractors, and the Safety Department.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA requirements, company policies, and project-specific safety requirements.
• Assist with emergency response and safety-related issues as necessary.
• Communicate significant hazards and safety concerns to management promptly.
• Maintain accurate and organized safety records and documentation.
• Utilize Procore and Smartsheet to support safety and project-management activities.
• Help promote and maintain a positive safety culture throughout the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification - REQUIRED.
• Experience working on active construction jobsites.
• Working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and common construction hazards.
• Experience with Procore construction management software.
• Experience with Smartsheet project management software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, project managers, and subcontractors.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and basic Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to complete safety documentation accurately and professionally.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple safety-related responsibilities.
• Willingness and ability to regularly walk active construction jobsites.
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Professional demeanor and the ability to address safety concerns respectfully but confidently.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation as required by the position.

Preferred Qualifications

• NFPA 70E training/knowledge.
• Experience performing construction PTPs.
• Experience conducting construction safety inspections.
• Experience with incident and near-miss investigations.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Familiarity with electronic safety-management, inspection, or reporting systems.
• Experience working directly with construction crews and subcontractors.
• Experience coordinating safety activities with project management and field supervision.
