Project Manager - Civil Engineer

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee heavy civil construction projects ranging from $500,000 to $20 million. This individual will manage projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong background in heavy civil construction, estimating, scheduling, cost control, and client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple heavy civil construction projects ranging from $500K to $20M
• Oversee project performance, budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and resources
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, and bid documents
• Develop and maintain project schedules, forecasts, and cost reports
• Coordinate with owners, engineers, field personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Monitor project profitability and implement corrective actions as needed
• Review and approve change orders, pay applications, and purchase orders
• Track project costs and production against budget objectives
• Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards and project specifications
• Assist with project estimating, bid reviews, and preconstruction planning
• Support field teams in resolving technical and operational challenges
• Manage project closeout documentation and final deliverables

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience within heavy civil construction
• Proven experience managing projects ranging from $500,000 to $20 million
• Strong understanding of earthwork, utilities, site development, paving, concrete, drainage, and civil infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple concurrent projects
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
