Position Description

The Manager, Payroll will play a central role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations across multiple regions, while also supporting key systems and integration initiatives. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting full-cycle payroll activities across Canada, the U.S., and the U.K., including payroll review, processing, balancing, controls, compliance, and year-end reporting.
  • Managing payroll-related accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany allocations, and general ledger coordination, ensuring accuracy and alignment with internal controls.
  • Supporting payroll compliance, audit readiness, issue resolution, and responses to internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Assisting with benefits cost analysis, renewals, budgeting, and forecasting activities tied to payroll and related programs.
  • Supporting payroll, time tracking, and expense-related systems initiatives, including integrations, testing, data validation, mapping, documentation, implementation support, and ongoing enhancements.
  • Partnering cross-functionally with finance, HR, systems, and operational stakeholders to improve reporting, streamline processes, and strengthen payroll delivery.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented and solutions-driven payroll professional with strong multinational experience and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative setting. Ideal qualifications include:

  • University degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • PCP or PLP designation.
  • Minimum 5 years of payroll experience within a multinational organization.
  • Strong, current knowledge of Canadian payroll practices and tax requirements, with additional exposure to U.S. and U.K. payroll environments.
  • Experience supporting payroll compliance, reconciliations, controls, audits, and payroll-related financial processes.
  • Familiarity with payroll and enterprise systems such as ADP, Workday, SAP, and expense platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel capability, strong analytical skills, excellent judgment, and a high level of discretion with confidential information.
  • Strong communication and relationship-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and across local, regional, and global teams.
