At Prismatic Development Corporation, safety is the foundation of our multi-million-dollar major building, municipal, and complex institutional projects. We are seeking a highly disciplined, legally credentialed NYC DOB Licensed Site Safety Manager (SSM).

Operating within a high-conformance, low-EMR (Experience Modification Rate) corporate culture, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all safety enforcement, hazard mitigation, and regulatory compliance, shielding our workers, building sites, and the company from regulatory liabilities on complex vertical builds over $25M in value.

The Site Safety Manager is responsible for providing direct safety oversight of all self-performed construction activities, ensuring that work is properly planned, coordinated, and executed in accordance with OSHA requirements, company policies, and project-specific safety procedures. This includes participating in pre-task planning, reviewing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs/JSAs), identifying potential hazards, establishing appropriate controls, and ensuring employees have the proper training, PPE, tools, and equipment to safely perform their assigned work.

The Site Safety Manager works closely with superintendents, foremen, and field personnel to monitor changing site conditions, coordinate work activities, conduct field observations, address unsafe conditions, and implement corrective actions. Particular attention is given to higher-risk activities such as demolition, material handling, elevated work, power tools, hot work, equipment operation, and other company self-performed operations. The Site Safety Manager promotes a proactive safety culture by engaging employees in hazard identification and ensuring that production and schedule requirements never compromise the health and safety of personnel.

The Site Safety Manager serves as Prismatic's primary on-site liaison for all NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) inspections, unannounced field audits, and multi-agency safety walk-throughs. In this role, you will enforce absolute compliance with NYC Building Code Chapter 33, local laws, and OSHA regulations across all active project footprints, specifically adapting these standards to mid-rise concrete building structures and institutional developments. Responsibilities include overseeing the digital compliance workflow to ensure that Site Safety Plans (SSPs) and construction logistics are accurately maintained within the DOB NOW portal.

You will be legally responsible for authoring daily Site Safety Logs, reviewing and signing off on subcontractor Daily Hazard Analyses (DHAs), and authorizing high-risk work permits. Additionally, you will conduct strict, zero-tolerance field audits of all personnel, ensuring that 100% of workers carry active, verifiable Site Safety Training (SST) badges to protect the project footprint from costly city fines.

This position requires five or more years of active, hands-on field experience managing construction safety specifically on large-scale commercial public projects, mid-rise concrete superstructures, institutional developments, or major public facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record navigating the rigorous safety protocols and compliance mandates set forth by major state and municipal capital program development entities, including DSNY, DASNY, OGS, SUNY, CUNY, DCAS, and related New York City or New York State public owners. Strict Licensing & Certification Requirements

1. NYC DOB Credentials (Non-Negotiable)

• Active NYC DOB Site Safety Manager License: Must hold a valid, non-expired license card in good standing with the Department of Buildings.
• Educational Prerequisites: Completion certificate of the official 40-Hour DOB-Approved Site Safety Manager Course.
• Currency: Proof of the mandatory 8-Hour Site Safety Manager Refresher Course completed within the trailing 12 months.

2. Mandatory Site & Supervisor Training

• 62-Hour Supervisor SST Card: Must possess a valid, physical Site Safety Training (SST) Supervisor Card equipped with a scannable QR code for instant database verification.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction: A valid OSHA 30 card completed within the last 5 years.

3. Fire Safety & FDNY Certificates of Fitness (CoF)

S-56 Certificate of Fitness: Construction Site Fire Safety Manager (CSFSM).

• F-60 & G-60 Certificates: Fire Guard for Torch Operations and Torch Use in Construction.
• Technical Savvy: Ability to digitally track certifications and quickly cross-reference candidate/worker validity on the DOB NOW Public Portal.

Salary Range: Typically $140,000 to $180,000

Location:
