Position Overview

Oakridge Medical Center is seeking a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing clinical team.

The ideal candidate is a compassionate, clinically confident provider who can independently evaluate and treat patients across a broad range of common acute and chronic conditions. The NP will work closely with physicians, medical assistants, and other members of the Oakridge team to provide efficient, evidence-based care.

This is an excellent opportunity for an NP who wants a flexible schedule while working in a modern outpatient medical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients presenting with acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Obtain comprehensive histories and perform physical examinations
  • Diagnose and develop appropriate treatment plans
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing within applicable scope and credentials
  • Prescribe medications appropriately and in accordance with applicable laws and clinical guidelines
  • Provide preventive care and health education
  • Manage common chronic conditions and coordinate appropriate follow-up
  • Provide urgent-care services when appropriate
  • Perform procedures within training, competency, and scope of practice
  • Review diagnostic and laboratory results and ensure appropriate patient follow-up
  • Recognize patients requiring higher levels of care and arrange appropriate referrals or emergency evaluation
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records
  • Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and preventive care
  • Collaborate with physicians and other clinical staff
  • Follow Oakridge clinical protocols, policies, and quality standards
  • Maintain a professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach

Qualifications

Required

  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Texas
  • Active national certification appropriate to the NP's specialty
  • Current DEA registration, if required for the position
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Ability to practice within applicable Texas scope-of-practice requirements
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the clinical team
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills

Preferred

  • Experience in urgent care, primary care, family practice, or outpatient medicine
  • Experience treating a broad patient population
  • Experience with occupational medicine
  • Experience with diagnostic services
  • Experience in a high-volume outpatient environment
  • Bilingual skills are a plus
