Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our outpatient imaging team.
The ideal candidate will perform screening and diagnostic mammography examinations while ensuring exceptional image quality, compliance with MQSA and ACR standards, and an outstanding patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
Mammography Procedures
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography examinations
- Perform 2D Digital Mammography and 3D Breast Tomosynthesis
- Position patients accurately for CC, MLO, and additional diagnostic views
- Perform spot compression and magnification views
- Review images for diagnostic quality and repeat images when necessary
- Assist radiologists with diagnostic workups and breast imaging procedures
Patient Care
- Verify patient identity and imaging orders
- Obtain and document breast health history
- Explain procedures and answer patient questions
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care
- Ensure patient privacy, comfort, and dignity throughout examinations
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Perform and document MQSA-required quality control testing
- Maintain compliance with FDA, MQSA, ACR, New York State, and facility standards
- Assist with inspections, accreditation reviews, and audits
- Maintain accurate records and quality documentation
Equipment & Systems
- Operate mammography equipment safely and effectively
- Utilize RIS and PACS systems
- Document examinations accurately
- Report equipment issues and quality concerns promptly
Required Qualifications
- ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT-R)
- Active New York State Radiologic Technologist License
- Current BLS Certification
- Must meet MQSA personnel requirements for independent mammography practice
- Knowledge of mammographic positioning and image quality standards
- Understanding of radiation safety and ALARA principles
- Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning
- Availability to work through 5:00 PM
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT Mammography Certification (ARRT-M)
- 1+ year of mammography experience
- Experience with both screening and diagnostic mammography
- Experience with 3D Mammography / Tomosynthesis
- Experience operating Hologic mammography systems
- Knowledge of MQSA quality control procedures
- Experience with ACR accreditation processes
- Strong RIS and PACS proficiency
- Outpatient imaging experience
