Journymen Electrician

Key Responsibilities

• Installation: Set up and wire heavy industrial machinery, transformers, switchgear, motors, and control panels.
• Conduit and Wiring: Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install rigid conduit and pull wiring through large-scale industrial structures.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical faults, circuit failures, and electronic control system breakdowns to prevent production downtime.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and tests on electrical components and heavy machinery.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and follow complex electrical schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints.
• Code Compliance: Ensure all work meets strict safety rules and the National Electrical Code (NEC) along with local regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensing: Active Journeyman Electrician card or state-issued license.
• Experience: Completed a formal electrician apprenticeship plus 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in an industrial setting.
• Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of high-voltage systems, industrial controls, and instrumentation.
• Physical Strength: Ability to lift heavy objects (50-80 lbs), climb ladders, and work in tight or elevated spaces.
• Safety Focus: Strict adherence to safety standards like lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE).
