The Journeyman Electrician is a skilled tradesperson responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes and safety regulations, along with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical wiring, outlets, and fixtures according to specifications and codes
  • Inspect and troubleshoot electrical systems to identify problems and perform necessary repairs
  • Ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes and safety standards
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals or maintenance teams to complete projects on time
  • Test electrical systems using appropriate testing devices
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and report progress to supervisors
  • Provide guidance and support to apprentices and junior electricians
  • Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment when working on electrical systems
