Laboratory Technician (Entry Level Biology Chemistry grads)

Location: Gretna, LA 70053
Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday, 10:00 PM - 8:30 AM
Training Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 PM - 3:30 AM
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Hours: 40 hours per week

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Laboratory Technician to join our toxicology laboratory team in Gretna, Louisiana. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for candidates with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology who are interested in gaining hands-on laboratory experience in a regulated testing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and assist with testing using Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) and LC-MS/MS instrumentation.
• Perform confirmatory testing on non-negative test results in accordance with applicable SAMHSA guidelines and other regulatory requirements.
• Assist with quality control (QC) activities to support laboratory accuracy and consistency.
• Follow established laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and document testing activities.
• Review test results and identify potential discrepancies according to established procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory workspace.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology is required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated laboratory environment.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work the required overnight schedule.
