The 3-Axis CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture precision graphite components to tight tolerances and quality standards.


This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work, understands CNC machining processes, and wants to be part of a growing manufacturing operation.


Key Responsibilities


  • Set up and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines.
  • Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Load and adjust CNC programs, tooling, fixtures, and work offsets.
  • Perform tool changes and make machining adjustments when required.
  • Inspect finished components using appropriate measuring equipment.
  • Maintain dimensional accuracy and required surface finishes.
  • Identify machining or quality issues and work with the production and quality teams to resolve them.
  • Complete production and inspection documentation accurately.
  • Follow established safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time, quality, scrap reduction, and machine utilization.
  • Work collaboratively with machinists, supervisors, engineering, quality, and operations personnel.


Experience & Skills


  • Previous experience operating and setting up 3-axis CNC milling machines.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, tooling, feeds, speeds, offsets, and workholding.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances.
  • Ability to use standard inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
  • Experience machining graphite is beneficial but not required.
