Seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with strong background in both mill and lathe operations. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC equipment to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to machine parts to specification
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and manufacturing drawings
- Perform tool changes, offsets, probing, and first article inspections
- Make minor program edits to improve accuracy, surface finish, and cycle time
- Conduct in process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other precision tools
- Monitor machine performance, identify tooling wear, and coordinate maintenance when needed
- Maintain accurate documentation for production, quality checks, and part traceability
- Follow all safety procedures, 5S standards, and quality requirements
- Work with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve machining issues
Requirements
- Hands on CNC machining experience with both mills and lathes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T
- Experience with G code edits, tooling selection, and machine setup
- Strong understanding of machining practices, speeds/feeds, and materials
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments
- Ability to work independently and in a fast paced production environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred
- Experience with Doosan, Brother, Citizen, or similar controls
- Background in high precision or high volume manufacturing
- Knowledge of coolant systems, workholding, and advanced tooling strategies
