CNC Operator - Mazak Lathe

Location: Kirkwood, MO
Position: CNC Operator
Schedule: Full-Time

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator with hands-on Mazak lathe experience to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating CNC lathes in a production environment, reading blueprints, using precision measuring equipment, and maintaining quality throughout the machining process.

Previous experience operating a Mazak CNC lathe is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Mazak CNC lathes
• Load and unload parts and materials
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
• Monitor machining operations and make adjustments as needed
• Perform tool changes and basic machine offsets
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications
• Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Identify machining or quality issues and report or correct them as appropriate
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records
• Perform routine machine checks and basic preventative maintenance
• Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications

• Mazak CNC lathe experience required
• Previous CNC machining or CNC operator experience
• Strong understanding of CNC lathe operations
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Experience using precision measuring instruments
• Ability to perform basic offsets and tool changes
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to troubleshoot basic machining issues
• Dependable attendance and ability to work independently
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Mazatrol controls/programming
• CNC lathe setup experience
• Experience performing first-piece and in-process inspections
• Familiarity with machining tolerances and basic GD&T
• Previous experience in a precision manufacturing environment
