Job Description

This is an onsite role for Test Technician in Lad Vegas. The Test Technician will support software release validation, vehicle testing, mission operations, and defect resolution. This role will execute complex test procedures, analyze vehicle data, support software and hardware readiness, and work closely with engineering teams to ensure software releases meet established quality and safety standards prior to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead software release testing activities to verify quality standards are met and confirm software readiness prior to deployment.
• Support vehicle operations, mission execution, and other operational testing activities.
• Perform basic software operations and configuration tasks as required.
• Support missions in a variety of roles both inside and outside of test vehicles.
• Assist with test documentation, operational metrics, reporting, and vehicle readiness paperwork.
• Provide clear and accurate written and verbal feedback to engineering teams regarding test results, failures, and vehicle behavior.
• Analyze vehicle logs and test data using internal tools to identify and trace failures, support root-cause analysis, and document findings.
• Support the complete defect management lifecycle from initial identification and reporting through investigation and resolution.
• Execute mission preparation procedures, including launching software across multiple vehicle devices, verifying software and hardware configurations, deploying software when required, collecting requested data, and escalating issues as they occur.
• Develop targeted test cases for Emergency and Maintenance software releases.
• Execute testing and data collection activities to improve processes and tools based on observed customer needs.
• Maintain a safety-focused, inclusive work environment that encourages open and effective communication.
• Transition appropriate manual in-vehicle test cases into simulation environments to reduce execution time and improve testing efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience leading QA testing activities for software releases.
• 2+ years of experience executing complex testing and/or vehicle testing.
• Experience executing detailed test cases, documenting results, and reporting defects using tools such as TestRail and Jira.
• Basic QA and software testing experience.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence or comparable platforms such as Azure DevOps.
• Proactive and resourceful approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to perform and deliver results in high-pressure situations.
• Strong sense of urgency, ownership, and a safety-first approach to completing tasks and resolving problems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to program in Python or another applicable programming language.
• Experience working with vehicle or system communication buses, including CAN, Ethernet, or similar technologies.
• Experience developing scripts using a high-level programming language such as Python.
