The Adecco Permanent Recruitment Team is partnering with a leading engineering and industrial services organization to hire a Master Electrician for a direct-hire opportunity. This position is responsible for leading and executing electrical system installations, modifications, relocations, and removals at customer sites nationwide while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable National Electrical Codes and customer requirements.

Compensation & Total Rewards

Starting Pay: starting at $40.00/hour + overtime

The total compensation package goes well beyond the hourly rate. Employees spend approximately 85% of the year mobilized at customer sites and receive significant additional compensation while traveling:

• $70/day tax-free per diem while traveling - roughly equivalent to an additional $7/hour while mobilized

• Significant overtime opportunities

What Does the Total Compensation Look Like?

For example, a candidate earning $24/hour and mobilized approximately 85% of the year could earn roughly $80,000 in base wages. When per diem and retirement contributions are factored in, the overall compensation value can approach $108,000, before considering the additional value of company-paid health benefits.

For a Master Electrician earning $36-$40/hour, the total compensation potential is even greater, particularly for individuals who take advantage of travel and overtime opportunities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Execute electrical tasks as directed by electrical engineers, project engineers, and superintendents

• Develop task lists and facilitate execution by journeyman and apprentice teams

• Conduct and verify Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) of electrical sources before beginning work

• Lead the disassembly, replacement, and reassembly of power distribution equipment and system components

• Develop project-level material lists and coordinate with purchasing personnel

• Gather tools and supplies required for customer job sites

• Measure, cut, and bend EMT conduit and thread rigid conduit

• Field-fit and install Unistrut frames and hangers, cable tray, and conduit piping

• Complete manual and mechanically assisted wire pulls and terminations

• Trace and label power distribution and control wiring prior to equipment removal

• Install and mount electrical equipment including panels, disconnects, junction boxes, and motors

• Mentor journeymen and apprentices and supervise overall quality of work

• Sign apprentice hours as applicable

• Maintain tools, equipment, parts, and supplies

• Perform other jobsite duties as directed by site management

Skills & Requirements

• Willingness to travel 100% nationwide and work at customer sites across the United States

• Reliable personal vehicle suitable for interstate travel

• Own and maintain a basic set of electrical hand tools

• Mastery of reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals

• Advanced proficiency with electrical equipment and hand tools, including:

  • Manual and electric/hydraulic pipe benders

  • Bending pipe up to 4"

  • Knock-out tools

  • Unistrut shears

  • Cable cutters and crimpers

  • Wire feeders and tuggers

  • Multimeters

• Strong electrical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities

• Ability to lead projects by example and mentor less-experienced electricians

• Strong understanding of electrical theory and applicable mathematics

• Knowledge of and ability to follow applicable electrical codes and industry best practices

• Willingness to work nights, weekends, variable schedules, and additional hours as needed

Required Experience & Education

• High school diploma or GED

• Electrical trade school education

• Master Electrician License

• Strong knowledge of electrical theory, three-phase power, and industrial wiring methods

• Experience operating aerial lifts, forklifts, and other powered equipment

• 15+ years of experience in the electrical trade

• At least 10 years of industrial electrical experience

Important Travel Information

This is a 100% travel position requiring employees to work at customer locations nationwide. The company provides hotels, flights, and rental cars, and employees receive a $70/day tax-free per diem while mobilized, in addition to mileage reimbursement and overtime opportunities.
