Job Summary:

The purpose of the Welder is to change people's lives by working with a team of specialists that customize wheelchair accessible vehicles.

Hours:

Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM with overtime opportunities on Fridays and Saturdays. Actual overtime hours may vary.

Pay:

$20-$30 an hour depending on experience

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Assumes responsibility for the welding part of the manufacturing process
  • Follow all applicable in-house, industry, and regulatory health and safety guidelines
  • Operate MIG welder and grinder.
  • Operate a cut-off wheel, Sawzall, and MIG welder
  • Trouble shoot issues as needed
  • Ability to bend and shape pipes of various materials and sizes with precision
  • Knowledge in pipe fitting and welding techniques
  • Maintains and grows professional and technical knowledge
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively via written and verbal methods
  • Hands on welding experience, ideally in the automotive or manufacturing fields
  • Understanding of functionality and mechanics of a vehicle's rear suspension
  • Knowledge of welding machine operation, regulating current, and voltage for the proper fusion of metals
  • Must be proficient with analyzing and fabricating from drawings, schematics and sketches
  • Mechanically inclined, understands vehicle mechanics and body work
  • Must be organized and keep an orderly work area
  • Ability to trouble shoot issues as needed, Pre-inspection of parts, ability to use hand and power tools, attention to quality with minimal errors
  • Able to lift 50 pounds, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience of welding experience
  • Working knowledge of power tools and hand tools preferred (skill saw, Sawzall, cut off wheel, air saw, air hammer, grinders, etc.)
