DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF FIRESTOP TECHNICIAN:
- Install Firestop Products: Apply sealants, caulks, wraps, collars, and other fire-rated products to pipes, ducts, cables, and penetrations
- Examples of Penetrations: Types include expansion, contraction, and control joints in interior, concrete joints, mechanical and electrical penetrations
- Use specialized products: Work with intumescent caulk, elastomeric caulk, smoke and sound barriers, speed sleeves, and intumescent composite sheets, applying them according to product-specific instructions
- Measure and prepare: Accurately measure openings, cut materials, and prepare surfaces for installation.
- Follow blueprints and codes: Interpret architectural and engineering drawings, and adhere to local, state, and national fire safety regulations
- Additional: Installation types include spray applications
- Safety practices and protocols must befollowed at all times
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical knowledge: Understanding of firestop materials, installation techniques, and fire protection systems
- Attention to detail: Precision in measuring, cutting, and fitting products to ensure barrier integrity.
- Regulatory compliance: Familiarity with fire codes, building codes, and safety standards.
- Blueprint reading: Ability to interpret construction plans and technical specifications.
- Physical stamina: Ability to work in various construction environments, lift 50 pounds, work at heights or in confined spaces.
- Mandatory 1+ Years commercial caulking or waterproofing required
- Prefer Boom/Scissor lift experience
- Valid driver's license AND reliable transportation required
- Must have working cell phone.
- US Citizenship required
