Position Summary:

The role of the Plumbing Technician is to install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in residential, commercial, or industrial environments. This role also requires a strong understanding of plumbing systems and building codes, being able to work independently or as part of a team and prioritize safety and customer satisfaction.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing systems (water, gas, and drainage)
  • Troubleshoot plumbing issues, locate the source of the problems, and provide effective solutions
  • Read and interpret blueprints and building plans to determine layout and materials needed
  • Cut, assemble, and install pipes and fitting using proper tools and techniques
  • Inspect plumbing systems for leaks, damage, or compliance issues
  • Collaborate with construction teams on-site to ensure plumbing systems are integrated effectively within new builds or renovations
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, time spent, and materials used
  • Follow safety regulations, local plumbing codes, and OSHA guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding work performed and any recommendations
  • Able to diagnose and repair HVAC and Electrical systems.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program or trade school certification
  • Valid plumbing license (as required by state or local regulations)
  • 2+ years of proven experience as a plumbing technician or plumber
  • Knowledge of water supply, drainage, and venting systems
  • Familiarity with plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards
  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license for operation of a company vehicle
  • Strong understanding of HVAC and Electrical

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50-75 pounds regularly
  • Frequently required to climb ladders, kneel, crawl, bend, and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, under sinks, and in crawl spaces or attics
  • Comfortable working in varying weather conditions, including hot, cold, or wet environments
  • Use of hand and power tools in repetitive motions for extended periods
  • Must be able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Work may take place in residential homes, commercial buildings, or construction sites
  • May involve exposure to unpleasant odors, sewage, or hazardous materials
  • Potential for emergency call outs, weekend, or after hours work
