ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN I
LOCATION: Tempe, AZ
Onsite
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $22-$25 per hour
• Full-time, non-exempt
ROLE IMPACT
Support electronic assembly and flow meter calibration by testing, programming, assembling, and troubleshooting electronic systems to specification. This role helps ensure reliable product performance through accurate calibration, component-level troubleshooting, and quality electronic assembly.
KEY DUTIES
• Calibrate and program microprocessor-controlled electronic equipment using personal computers.
• Program flow computers using front-panel keyboard entry or downloaded software.
• Assemble electronic enclosures and system test electronics paired with flow meters.
• Modify existing boards from engineering drawings or diagrams with guidance from an Electronics Technician II or Engineering.
• Test and troubleshoot analog and digital circuits to component level; install and solder components onto circuit boards; mix and use potting compounds and conformance coatings as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• A.S. Degree in Electronics or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to test and troubleshoot analog and digital circuits to component level and perform electronic assembly and soldering.
EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Work may involve electronic test equipment, personal computers, power tools, machinery, microscopes, and very small electronic parts and components.
• Regularly required to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods, bend, reach, move between workstations, and perform repetitive motion involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Required to lift light items up to 20 lbs. regularly, medium items of 21-50 lbs. often, and heavy items of 51-100 lbs. rarely.
• Indoor, environmentally controlled manufacturing setting with periodic exposure to moderate to high noise levels and low concentrations of volatile solvents.
• Safety glasses and steel-toed safety shoes are required at all times. Additional PPE will be provided as required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions and utilize appropriate PPE.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• IPC-J-STD-001 certification desired.
• Experience working from engineering drawings and diagrams.
• Good verbal communication skills for interaction with Engineering, Sales, customers, auditors, and suppliers.
