Experienced Structured Cabling / Data Technician
OCS is looking for an experienced Structured Cabling / Data Technician to join our growing team.
We are looking for a dependable, professional technician who can perform high-quality installations with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, test and troubleshoot Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6A cabling
- Install and terminate fiber-optic cabling
- Build out MDF/IDF and telecommunications rooms
- Install racks, cabinets, patch panels and cable management
- Perform cable pathway installation, including J-hooks and supports
- Read blueprints, floor plans and cable schedules
- Label and document cabling accurately
- Test and certify copper cabling
- Perform troubleshooting and service work
- Maintain clean and professional installations
Requirements
- Previous structured cabling/data technician experience required
- Strong knowledge of copper cabling installation and termination
- Fiber experience is a major plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
- Must be dependable and able to show up on time
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Ability to work from ladders and lifts and perform the physical requirements of the position
- Willingness to travel when projects require it
- Valid driver's license preferred
