Mechanical/Welding Inspector - UN-Portable Tanks New Orleans Area

About the Role

Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Welding Inspector to join our team in the New Orleans area. You'll conduct inspections on UN-Portable Tanks at local depots, playing a critical role in ensuring compliance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and welding inspections on UN-Portable Tanks (350-500+ annually)
• Work directly with depot partners to coordinate scheduling and inspections
• Maintain detailed inspection documentation and compliance records
• Ensure adherence to TLS/CDG regulations and industry standards
• Regulatory Periodic Inspections of UN-Portable Tanks (350-500+ annually)
• Identification of containers
• External and internal examination of the tanks
• Examination of frame or other structural equipment
• Witness hydraulic pressure test
• Witness of leak proof test
• Stamping of the nameplates
• Work directly with depot partners to coordinate scheduling and inspections
• Maintain detailed inspection documentation and compliance records
• Ensure adherence to TLS/CDG regulations and industry standards

What We're Looking For

• 5-10 years of experience in mechanical/welding inspection
• Expertise with UN-Portable Tank specifications and requirements
• Flexibility to work 2-3 days per week based on depot testing schedules
• Local to the New Orleans, LA area within a 45-minute radius (on-site presence required)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with depot teams
• Valid certifications and credentials in mechanical/welding inspection
