An established commercial general contractor is expanding its Jacksonville team and is looking for an experienced Construction Estimator with a background in healthcare interiors and tenant improvement construction.
The ideal candidate is someone who understands the details that go into healthcare renovation projects and can confidently take a project from plans and specifications through a complete, competitive estimate.
Responsibilities
- Estimate commercial interior and healthcare renovation projects
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents
- Complete material and labor quantity takeoffs
- Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
- Analyze and level subcontractor bids
- Develop detailed scopes and bid packages
- Prepare accurate project budgets and final estimates
- Identify potential scope issues and project risks
- Assist with value engineering and cost-control strategies
- Participate in preconstruction meetings and site visits
- Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and project teams
- Assist with project turnover following award
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating
- Healthcare construction experience preferred
- Strong experience with interior build-outs, renovations, or TI projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents
- Strong quantity takeoff and cost-estimating skills
- Experience soliciting and evaluating subcontractor proposals
- Knowledge of commercial construction processes and pricing
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
