The Construction Accountant plays a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects within a small accounting team. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate cost tracking, managing project billing, and supporting the project teams in a variety of construction projects. The ideal candidate will be extremely flexible and versatile in the construction environment, handle a variety of duties supporting the entire organization and will play a hands-on role with multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Track and monitor project costs accurately
• Assist in weekly in-house payroll processing
• Support project team as required
• Manage job reporting for various construction projects
• Conduct financial analysis to support project and company decision-making
• Support internal and external financial reporting requirements
• Be a team player with ability to wear many hats

Required Qualifications

• Mid-level capability and experience in construction accounting environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting desired
• Experience in PR, JC, AR and AP
• Certified Payroll Reporting
• Strong attention to detail
• Effective communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Cross-train and share knowledge
• Collaborate across the organization
