Summary:
The Bookkeeper is responsible for performing day-to-day bookkeeping functions, including AP/AR, financial data entry, calculating and paying taxes, preparing financial reports, and administering payroll.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee and execute day-to-day bookkeeping functions including accounts receivables and accounts payables
Balance and maintain accurate ledgers
Ensure timely payment of all tax liabilities with 100% compliance with deadlines and relevant regulations
Perform month-end closing duties including journal entries, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and account and bank reconciliation
Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
Maintain positive relationships with customers and suppliers
Perform payroll duties, entering payroll into QuickBooks, submit to bank for payment, and pay payroll tax and benefits liabilities
Prepare and submit all financial reports mandated by law, needed for audits, required by agreements with vendors, or requested by customers (and approved by the executive team)
Ensure compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, federal/state wage and hour rules, applicable benefits regulations, and company policies
Collaborate closely with the Repair Operations Manager and Project Estimator to ensure financial viability/profitability of current and future projects
Collaborate with Human Resources and the executive team to research employee benefits plans and vendors to identify those that present the best value
Perform month-end and year-end closes in timely manner
